This is a rough for the first page of the creation myth of Inuits. I’m not sure how many pages it has to be. I think it may be two.
In the beginning, Bumba was all alone in the water. He got sick and vomited up the sun, moon, stars, and land. He vomited up nine animals: a leopard, an eagle, a crocodile, a fish, a tortoise, lightning, a white heron, a scarab and a goat. The last thing that he vomited was mankind. The animals and Bumba’s three sons then created plants and the rest of the animals.
Clouds aren’t my strong suit. I’m not a painter and clouds are so soft that drawing them is difficult if you’re attempting a semi-realistic look. I decided to stylize them which works really well for this project because the clouds are actually a figure, the father, being shoved upward.
I found some good reference for the angry cloud burst. The military usually offers up a disturbing image when you want to make something look supernatural.
